And actor Kelsey Grammer drank in the simple pleasures of fatherhood on Wednesday.

On a family outing in Los Angeles the 57-year-old was seen lovingly smelling the scalp of his six-month-old daughter Faith.

The family were spotted on a dependably warm day in the City of Angels enjoying the weather as they engaged in some retail therapy.

The former Dr Frasier Crane was sockless in dark blue trainers that complimented his blue checkered button-down shirt.

Continuing the blue theme, he wore cobalt knee-length shorts.

The veteran thespian appeared quiet and distinguished in his grey beard and dark sunglasses as he and his loved ones soaked in the sunshine.

His daughter Faith was dressed in a neck-to-ankle light cotton dress and adorable baby Uggs.

Kelsey's current wife Kayte, and mother to Faith, was casual in the warmth of late-winter Los Angeles.

Her attire was decidedly appropriate for summer with white shorts, delicate sandals, and a deep-necked blouse.

The actor, famous for playing a psychiatrist in two hit NBC television shows, did not appear so domestically capable late last year.

He and Kayte were caught in November driving their baby girl without a child restraint.

The Frasier star made it a point to appear for the cameras soon after that with a proper child-seat in hand.

This is both the fourth child and fourth wife for the 57-year-old actor who received his first grandson last year.
